Come to The Well
Health and Religion?

The rule for harmonious conversation is never talk politics or religion, right? Well, having grown up in the bible belt, this is not my motto,  Have you ever had a friend or family member ask you to pray for a health concern? While I believe that prayer is powerful and helpful I also believe that solutions come in all shapes and sizes.  Sometimes a full on miraculous cure is in order.  Other times, though, healing may be much more subtle.  Often times we ask for help coming from a place of worry, panic and fear.  Someone we know has been given a seemingly hopeless diagnosis.  If only they would be miraculously healed on the spot, or the scientists researching a cure would find the antidote today and all would be well.  This may be the path we choose, but if this doesn't leave you in a place of peace and power don't lose hope, there is another path.  This path is the path of trust and surrender.  Its about recognizing and appreciating that we did not create ourselves.  And the One who did is all good and all powerful.  Our bodies are created with a life, a power inside of us.  Equally given to every person to function and heal.  There is no need to panic, no need to worry.  There is already a healing and driving force in the body that is always at work and only slows down if we have placed barriers in its path.  Our healing capacity can be blocked through eating junk food, choosing to be stressed out, and from structural misalignments in our body that can be corrected through regular chiropractic care.  Why not choose peace? Why not let the God to whom we pray be glorified through our perfect body he created.  Why not see the natural bounty of food and drink and peaceful prayer and chiropractic as an answer to prayer?  Why do we have to think of only yogis or Buddhists that take care of their bodies naturally? Isn't the body the temple of God for all people?
An early Christian, St. Paul, writes, "Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever.  Amen."   Let your body heal.  Come to The Well.
